The three most important things to come from the discussion of ICT within History FDP sessions today are:

  • Preperation – both in terms of resources (ie test runs) and of the pupils skills in ICT such as research frames
  • Applications-How to apply ict and history skills in a lesson to create the right objectives for the subject – thinking outside the box with the basic software and creating more independence of pupils.
  • Comunication – in terms of AFL and instruction, the criteria and differentiation that can be shown so that the software meets its potential.

Overall these three highlight the major consideration when planning an ICT scheme of work to make sure that it applies to the subject and not just because its a school intiative.
