It was born out of discussions about the need for a bicycle recycling project in the Leeds area and the need for affordable second-hand bikes. Most other major cities run a similar recycling scheme.

The Bikes College is a fully self sufficient Community Interest Company based on Copley Hill in Leeds that restores unwanted bicycles. We collect and accept bicycles otherwise unwanted and/or abandoned and we use them to teach people of all ages how to look after their bikes.
